3-30-08  Confirmation Sunday "An Open Minded Church" Proverbs 2:1-11 The United Methodist Church proclaims to be a church of "open hearts, open minds and open doors."   What does it mean to have open minds?

3-23-08  Easter Sunday "Celebrate Life"  Matthew 28:1-15    Matthew offers us two responses to resurrection.   The chief priests choose to sustain death, even if they must lie to do so.   The women on the other hand choose to embrace life and run to tell the news!

3-16-08  Lenten Series: I Have Decided to Follow Jesus "To Jerusalem"  Matthew 21:1-17

3-9-08  Lenten Series: I Have Decided to Follow Jesus  "To the Sinner"  Matthew 9:9-13

3-02-08  Lenten Series: I Have Decided to Follow Jesus "To the Sick"  Rev. Hooley Preaches.

2-24-08  Lenten Series: I Have Decided to Follow Jesus "To the Other Side"  Matthew 8:28-34

2-17-08  Lenten Series: I Have Decided to Follow Jesus "To the Hungry"  Matthew 14:13-21

2-10-08  Lenten Series: I Have Decided to Follow Jesus   "Into the Desert"   Matthew 4:1-11  We follow Jesus, going where Jesus goes, and doing what Jesus does.   This week, Jesus is pursued into the desert, to confront temptation.  He's not alone.

2-03-08  "It's Good to Be Here" Matthew 17:1-8 The Transfiguration of Jesus on the mountaintop is witnessed by Peter, James and John.  Peter exclaims "it is good for us to be here!"   Indeed, perhaps it is.

1-20-08 Hardball:  "Failure"  1 Kings 19:9-18  The last in our series, "When Life Plays Hardball."   Facing failure is hard, devastating sometimes.  But Failure can also provide opportunities to learn and succeed in the future.

1-20-08 Hardball: "Illness and Death"  Psalm 6  The second in our series, "When Life Plays Hardball."   Illness, death and grief are all things that "strike" us.   Healing is a gift, which means it is God's to bestow.  Yet God is merciful to all who suffer.

1-13-08  Hardball: "Broken Relationships"  Hosea 3   The first in our series, "When Life Plays Hardball."   The pitches come fast, inside and high and sometimes they hit us and knock us down.   The series will examine how we find the strength to get back up and in the game when that happens.

1-06-08   "Here We Stand"  2 Kings 23:1-3    We begin our year in the tradition of the Wesleyan Covenant Service.
